Tuesday 15 January 2008 – Yet more negative results
Ordinarily I would be glad to report the return of negative results from the Hospital Xray department, but when you are hoping that they find something that can be tangibly treated then negative is not always good.
I have now been subscribed yet another form of medication, this time Amitriptyline, a type of anti depressant. My GP now believes these ‘old fashioned’ tablets will best reduce the pains I am getting from the scar tissue around the area of the operation I had to remove part of the lung and tumour in 2006. He is working on the premise that I have damaged nerve endings in that region. I am willing to give these a go and I will have to increase the dosage from one tablet to five over a short period of time depending on any side effects. I am to take one at night, increased by one over a three or four day period.
I am not as yet depressed, but I am getting really tetchy, which is unfortunate for my family, but they at least understand, most of the time.
