Catch-up.
Since my last entry in the diary I have struggled with a bad back and the continued problems associated with Acid indigestion. I had blood tests for Helicobacter pylori (H. Pylori for short), that today were confirmed positive and after weeks of suffering I may now be cured of all indigestion problems with a seven day course of antibiotics and acid suppressants.
H. Pylori is a bacterium, a kind of germ, which lives in the sticky mucus that lines the stomach. About 40% of people in the UK have H. pylori in their stomach so it is very common. In nearly nine out of 10 people who have H. pylori, it does not cause any problems.
Once again I appear to be one of the unfortunate one in 10.
