...another, unforeseen – Tuesday 26 June 2007
Well the dreaded day of the check-up came and went and I have both good news and not so good news to post.
The good news is that the X-ray showed my chest to be clear of anything other than the missing lobe of lung, which is good.
The head pains and ankle swelling did not give the consultant too much concern, he was glad that both ankles were showing the same symptoms, which indicates a circulation problem.
However, the swelling/cold to touch symptoms affecting my left wrist [the opposite wrist to the one with the original bone cancer] did cause him enough concern to warrant the setting up of an MRI scan in the near future to ascertain the cause.
Then, even more worrying for me, whilst under a thorough examination, was the discovery of a lump in my left armpit in the lymph gland. I do know that health professionals pay particular attention to the lymph glands when examining for signs of cancer.
I will have to wait now for an appointment to come through for the MRI scan, if it comes through quickly I may worry more than I am now; otherwise it is a matter of carrying on as usual.
